Cannabis seeds durban poison

Durban Poison strain

The original Durban Poison cannabis seed from Dutch Passion Seeds is a classic outdoor and indoor variety, hardy enough for outdoor-grow, even in extreme north/south latitudes. The cannabis plant originally came to Holland from South Africa and was propagated for a long time in the 70’s through inbreeding. With each generation the Durban Poison Strain adapted better and better to the windy and rainy climate of Northern Europe. During the breeding process, some Indica hereditary traits, unknown today, were crossed with the Durban.

Durban Poison may initially show broad indica-like leaves, but the growth pattern allows the sativa dominance to emerge at the end with long flowers punctuated by small sativa-like leaves. Durban Poison is ready for indoor harvesting after 8-9 weeks. Outdoors it can grow 2-3 meters high and harvesting is done at the beginning of autumn. If there is enough space for the roots, the hemp plant develops strong side branches to be able to carry the heavy, resinous flowers.

Plant development, harvest appearance and an energizing and uplifting high are typically sativa-like.

Durban Poison has a spicy, slightly misty taste with a hint of aniseed, licorice and cloves. The buds are often dark green and resistant to mold and pests. Very strong and with consistently good yields.

Durban Poison Feminised Seeds

Durban Poison originally entered Holland from South Africa during the 1970s as a pure sativa strain. However, during numerous generations of adapting to the outdoor conditions of northern Europe, some indica genetics from an unknown source have managed to combine with it. This influence is displayed in some wide, early leaf growth although by the end of its life-cycle it will appear to be a sativa strain with long buds and narrow leaves.

Durban Poison grows well indoors and outdoors even at higher latitudes in northern European summers. It is a very mould and pest-resistant strain. When grown indoors flowering is completed in 8 – 9 weeks. Outdoor plants can grow to be very large reaching 3 meters in height before being ready to harvest in late September or very early October before the weather turns.

The structure, bud development and potent, clear, uplifting, energising high are all clearly sativa in style. Only the darker green leaves betray its small proportion of indica genetics. It has an appetising flavour of aniseed/liquorice with notes of clove.
